Turning off Screen Lock on T5, T5+, or T6 Honeywell Thermostats

On a Honeywell T5, T5+, or T6 thermostats, the screen lock feature can be turned off or disabled from the thermostat’s menu. Here’s how it works and what you can do: 

Turn off the screen lock

  1. Wake the thermostat screen by touching it.

  2. Press Menu.

  3. Use the arrows to scroll until you see Screen Lock (or just Lock).

  4. Tap Select.

  5. Use the arrows to go to Unlocked.

  6. Tap Select and confirm if prompted.

    • This removes the PIN lock so the screen is no longer locked. 

If it’s currently locked

  • A lock icon appears on the display when the lock is active.

  • To unlock before you can change this setting, touch the lock icon and enter the lock PIN. 

  • If you don’t know the PIN, the default PIN isn’t adjustable on the thermostat but is based on the date code on the back of the thermostat (date code + 1234 = PIN).
