Setting Timezones for Ultraloq Locks

Last updated: February 11, 2026

Why do I need to set a timezone?

Ultraloq locks use timezone information to schedule access codes correctly. When you create an access code with specific start and end times (like "February 15, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM"), the lock needs to know which timezone those times refer to.

Without the correct timezone setting, your access codes may activate at the wrong times or not work at all.

Setting your account timezone

During initial Ultraloq account setup, you'll be asked to select a timezone. This becomes the default timezone for all locks added to your account.

To set your account timezone:

  1. During Connect Webview setup, select your timezone from the dropdown

  2. Choose the timezone where your Ultraloq locks are physically located

  3. Complete the rest of the setup process

Changing timezone for a specific lock

After connecting your Ultraloq account, you can override the account-level timezone for individual locks. This is useful if you have locks installed in different timezones (for example, properties in different states or countries).

Using property management software? If you're managing Ultraloq locks through software like Hospitable, Guesty, or another property management system, timezone settings are configured through that platform. Contact your PMS provider for assistance with timezone configuration.

To change a lock's timezone:

  1. Navigate to Devices in the Seam Console

  2. Select the Ultraloq lock you want to update

  3. Click the "⋮" menu button in the top right

  4. Select Edit device

  5. Update the Timezone field using IANA timezone format (e.g., America/New_York)

  6. Click Save

Note: Changing a lock's timezone will affect all future access codes. Existing active access codes will continue using the timezone they were created with.

Troubleshooting

Access codes aren't activating at the right time

  • Verify the lock's timezone matches where the lock is physically installed

  • Check that the access code times are set correctly in your intended timezone

  • If you recently moved a lock to a new property, update its timezone setting

I have locks in multiple timezones

  • Set your account timezone to match where most of your locks are located

  • Override the timezone setting for locks in other locations or properties
