Brivo "Developer Inactive" Error

Overview

When connecting your Brivo account to Seam, you may encounter an error indicating that your Brivo API key is not yet active. This happens when your API key is in a "waiting" state and needs to be activated by the Brivo API team.

Error Message

You'll see an error message similar to:

Your Brivo API key is not yet active. Please contact brivoapi@brivo.com to have your API key activated.


Why This Happens

When a new Brivo API key is created, it may remain in a "Developer Inactive" state until the Brivo API team manually activates it. This is a Brivo account configuration issue, not a problem with Seam.


How to Fix

  1. Contact the Brivo API team by sending an email to brivoapi@brivo.com

  2. Include the following information in your email:

    • Your API Key

    • Your Brivo admin username (the email you use to log into Brivo)

  3. Sample email:

    Subject: API Key Activation Request

    Hi Brivo API Team,

    I am trying to connect my Brivo account to Seam, but I am receiving a "Developer Inactive" error.

    Could you please activate my API key?

    API Key: [Your API Key]
    Admin Username: [Your Brivo Username]

    Thank you!

  4. Wait for confirmation from Brivo that your API key has been activated

  5. Retry the connection in Seam once you receive confirmation
