Kwikset - Devices not showing up

Last updated: September 3, 2026

If your Kwikset devices aren't appearing after connecting your account, check the following:

1. Use the owner account

Seam requires the Kwikset account that owns the home your locks belong to. If you were invited to someone else's home, your locks may not appear even though you can see and control them in the Kwikset App — and this is true even when your role in that home is Admin.

To check: open the Kwikset App and look at the header above your locks. If it reads "Invited by [name]", you are not the owner of that home.

If you're an invited user, either ask the home owner to connect their Kwikset account instead, or have them transfer ownership of the home to your account. Reconnecting or re-syncing your own account will not surface the locks.

2. Check that your model is supported

Not all Kwikset models work with Seam. Only Wi-Fi-enabled models connect directly — this is the Halo family, including Halo Keypad, Halo Touch, Halo Touchscreen, and Halo Select. See the full list of supported Kwikset devices at https://www.seam.co/manufacturers/kwikset

Bluetooth-only models are not supported, including Aura, Aura Reach, Powerbolt 250, and SmartCode 955 Pembroke.

Z-Wave and Zigbee models (SmartCode 888/910/912/914/916/918, Home Connect 620, Obsidian, and the Convert kit) do not connect through a Kwikset account — they connect via Samsung SmartThings and require a compatible hub.

3. Confirm your locks are online in the Kwikset App

Seam only imports locks that are reachable over Wi-Fi. Open the Kwikset App and confirm each missing lock shows an online status.

Turn off Bluetooth on your phone before checking. With Bluetooth on, a lock can appear reachable over local proximity even when its Wi-Fi connection is down, which hides the real problem. With Bluetooth off, the status you see is the lock's actual Wi-Fi connectivity — the same thing Seam sees.

4. Check that 2-Step Verification is disabled

You must disable 2-Step Verification (multifactor authentication) before connecting your Kwikset account to Seam. With it enabled, Seam cannot complete authorization, and no locks will be imported.

To turn it off:

1. Open the Kwikset App and tap the top-left menu

2. Go to Account Settings

3. Turn off 2-Step Verification

You can re-enable 2-Step Verification after the connection is established without disrupting it.

5. Allow time for the first sync

The initial sync can take several minutes to complete. Wait a few minutes after connecting, then refresh your device list before troubleshooting further.

After making any of these changes, reconnect your account and check if your devices appear.

If your locks are online in the Kwikset App, on a supported Wi-Fi model, and owned by the account you connected — but still aren't showing up — contact Seam support with the email address of the Kwikset account you connected and the names of the missing locks.
